From Friday, May 24th to Sunday, June 26th, 2022, the Göttingen Computer Science Days (formerly student computer science days) will take place. The lecture and workshop weekend is taking place for the 18th time! In keeping with the fact that we are now coming of age, we want to change the event a bit and open it up in all directions. That's why our motto this year is Collaboration. No matter if you are a

This year, in addition to lectures and workshops on Friday lunchtime, the CIDAS marketplace for theses will be there, and on Friday evening the summer party at the Institute of Computer Science!

    Are you looking for a topic for your thesis or a project? The Campus Institute Data Science (CIDAS) is once again hosting a marketplace for theses and projects - now for the first time on-site! Students of all programs with an interest in data science and data analysis are welcome here. Scientists from different disciplines will present their research as well as concrete topics for theses related to data science and computer science. You will have the opportunity to talk to them and get an interesting overview of the diverse research on campus. Cookies, coffee as well as other snacks and drinks will also be provided :)

    Psychologie vs. Code 2:30 PM 3:15 PM

    Kommunikation mit Menschen, die nicht viel Ahnung von Entwicklung haben kann schwer sein. Oft fehlt es an einer klaren Vorstellung, was wichtig und sinnvoll ist oder wie schnell es fertig wird. Viel Code landet auf dem Friedhof, weil es sich jemand anders überlegt. Manchmal verstehen sie es einfach nicht, aber wir können eine Menge tun um das Problem zu verringern. Wie Pattern im Code hat auch unser Hirn Netzwerke und Entscheidungszweige, Biases, die wir gezielt ansprechen und verändern können, um uns selbst verständlicher auszudrücken. Wir können schon vor der ersten Zeile das eigentliche Problem identifizieren und konstruktiv zusammen arbeiten, um keine verlorenen Stunden selbst zu tragen. In diesem Vortrag kriegst du ein paar hilfreiche Tipps für das passende Mindset um die Kommunikation mit nicht IT-ler zu vereinfachen.

    Alle Studis kennen es, oft wird darüber geflucht: eduroam . An fast jeder Uni oder Hochschule in Deutschland kommen Forscher:innen und Studierende damit ins Internet. Aber wie funktioniert das ganze eigentlich? In diesem Vortrag werden die Konzepte hinter eduroam vorgestellt, wir machen einen Ausflug in die technischen Details der Umsetzung, die genutzen Protokolle, aktuelle Entwicklungen im Bereich der Sicherheit und schauen uns an, wohin die Reise gehen könnte.

    Study Quality - An Introduction 3:00 PM 3:45 PM

    The enhancement of Study Quality can best be achieved via an iterative development of a curriculum and its surroundings. In this talk, luft will provide (1) an overview about some of the conceptional ideas of the Bologna reforms, shifting the whole German higher education system away from the Diploma, (2) a brief introduction to Quality Assurance and Accreditation, how these terms are applied to study programmes and what they encompass on a broad level, (3) basic information about the system at the Institute for Computer Science, such that every student will be able to improve Study Quality and participate in its evolvement. You will also be able to provide your ideas about the improvement of the status quo during this talk. The talk will be provided in English if there should be demand, otherwise it will be held in German.
